The Cozy Sweater // Dress Form

Why every girl should own a sweater dress as part of their winter wardrobe

At the beginning of every new year, I enjoy a self imposed hibernation period. I catch up on my favorite shows, read a few best sellers, and in general enjoy the quiet time after a busy holiday season.

After a few weeks of solid bliss, I’m starting to get antsy. I’ve renewed my interest in spending more quality time with friends and a sudden itch to get of the house.

Since we’ve been seeing some nicer weather lately, it was 51 degrees earlier this week (followed by a snow storm…) I’ve been able to ditch the heavy winter coat and toss on my favorite winter wardrobe staple – the sweater dress.

Sweater dresses are a great way to stay warm and cozy, without feeling too frumpy. I’ve mentioned earlier this month that I’ve been on a huge long sleeve dress kick and sweater dresses are coming in hot at #2.

I picked up this BB Dakota sweater dress from Amazon Fashion a few weeks ago for under $35! I was shocked that it was such a great quality for such a cheap price. The lovely aubergine color is a perfect compliment to the season and overall, I’ve been kinda living for this dress.

For those of you gals that are worried that sweater dresses have no shape to them, let me share a quick tip with you. I tend to size up in sweater dresses, making them slightly bigger for my frame. From there I always belt them to bring out that hourglass shape to my figure and the extra fabric helps make sure that things don’t look too tight overall.

So tell me, are you guys a fan of sweater dresses?
