Happy St. Patrick’s Day! While most of you may have enjoyed a weekend filled with libations – I decided this year to take things easy and avoid the crowded bars and green beer. My brain is yelling “you’re getting old” while my liver is silently thanking me – welcome to your late 20’s!
This week, Lindsay and I are collaborating on a weeklong theme called “Professional Women’s Week”. Since we are both young professional women, it has has been key for us to find a way to show off our individual personality and creativity, while keeping things business professional in the workplace on a daily basis.
I mentioned last week on Thursday that metallics would be a big spring trend this year and to show off just how versatile the trend could be, Sam of Gold Coast Girl and I, teamed up to show you how we each styled this fun trend. I’m absolutely loving Sam’s metallic jacket – I can’t wait to steal it from her sometime in the upcoming months!
:: On Me: BB Dakota blazer | Dorothy Perkins blouse (old, similar here) | Madewell skinny jean | Diba heels (borrowed from Rachel) :: || :: On Sam: BCBG jacket | H&M blouse | Forever 21 jeans | Ivanka Trump pumps | Urban Outfitters sunnies ::
Since workplace fashion for women over the past few years has loosen up a bit beyond the skirt-suits, I decided to show off how I would add pops of metallic to an office outfit I’ve worn in the past. I totally loved these shoes that I borrowed from Rachel and felt that they we’re just the right about of metallic to make it office appropriate while still keeping on trend. The rest of my outfit was kept simple with a dark skinny pant and light colored blouse – however I still kept it “me” by adding this brand new sequin blazer. Be prepared to see this blazer in almost every photo – I think I’m I love!
