And just like that, June has arrived and we are only a few days away from the official start of the summer season. Anyone else feeling the post long weekend blues? I’ve been in a bit of a funk since I returned from California, but maybe it’s because it was basically the best weekend ever….
Anyone else miss having summer vacation?? #thisis30
With the hopes of summer finally landing in the Chicagoland area in the next few weeks, I’ve pull out some summer work essentials from the back of my closet. I’m a huge fan of layering my clothing during the colder months of the year, however during the spring/summer months – comfortable yet sleek basics are the name of the game.
Sleeveless blouses are a great wardrobe staple that can easily be dress up for work a la this outfit, where I paired this amazing sleeveless blouse with striped detail with a comfortable pair of ponte cropped cigarette pants. Pssst. These pants come in a variety of colors too! I prefer to keep my work wardrobe simple in a color scheme of black, white and neutral beige so that I can add a variety of color in the form of accessories. I’m head over heels for this bright blue tote from COACH and wore it almost every single day last summer, mainly paired with this summer dress.
For a night out on the town, I slip on a leather jacket and some festive heels before heading out the door to join my friends for drinks at a rooftop bar. Raised is one of my favorites, mainly because the patio is large and the cocktails are delicious.
I’d love to know what you guys wear to the office in the summer? If you had to pair down your summer work essentials to just 5 items, what would them be? Leave me a comment below!
