Anyone else having a harder time than expected with the Daylight Savings Time transition? Man has this week been a doozy for me. I’m having the hardest time falling asleep at a reasonable hour and as a result I’m gulping down a ton of coffee in the AM.
I’ve been searching all over the inter-webs for strategies that would help me get back on track and into a normal routine. So far it looks like I’m going to have to shake up my workout routine and start taking morning classes (aka pre-work) again to boost my energy levels. Not the worst thing that I could do for myself, but it’s change and I’m never good with that.
On a more upbeat note, who else is soaking up the sunshine today? Since it’s the one day this week that doesn’t have flurries or rain in the forecast, I’m celebrating with my pastel spring colors like this pretty pink pencil skirt.
I recently had a co-worker of mine tell me that she was intimidated at the thought of wearing pastel to the office, because she felt it came off too juvenile at times. It was an interesting thought, one I can honestly say I never considered, however can totally see where she’s coming from.
The solution to this problem? A juxtaposition of texture and material. I swear by this chambray shirt from Old Navy that I picked up almost 5+ years ago. It’s a great lightweight material and a neutral button down that can help compliment an outfit yet also help tone it down.
I’ve worn it a ton of different ways, including with this lace skirt, this floral skirt (which was featured in the NYT style section), and this dress as a cover up.
So I would love to know from you guys – are you intimidated by wearing pastels to the office?
