Hello March! I must say, even though February was short month it seemed to drag on forever.
February 2018 was one for the books and not in a good way. Some of you may have noticed that I was missing from the interwebs for a week and to be honest, I needed to take a step back and deal with a few personal things before I decided to share.
A few weeks ago my BFF and I were involved in a car collision that could have killed us. A distracted driver ran a red light and hit us in the intersection (I was driving and didn’t see it coming) which basically totaled my car and caused some minor injuries. Thankfully we were both okay but it’s been a pretty emotional experience all around. It just goes to show you that we don’t always have control over our lives.
Here’s to hoping that March has some better days in store for us all.
I’m starting off this weekend with a gal-pal dinner at a new to me restaurant named Marchesa in Chicago’s River North area. Since it’s been above freezing this whole week (yay for small wins!), I pulled out this floral midi dress I recently picked up for spring and decided to throw on my go-to faux leather jacket for a little edgy feminine look.
A side note: I’ve had my faux leather jacket for almost 10 years now and along with my denim jacket, it’s my most beloved jacket. I picked out a few faux leather jackets that are all under $100 that I’m also eyeing!

I’ve always been a fan of floral dresses for spring (groundbreaking, I know) but I can’t help myself. I’m planning on punching things up this season by wearing a little less black and bringing a bit more color back into my personal style.
So, I’d love to know what spring trends are you guys looking forward too this season and what fun plans do you have for this month. Let me know in the comments below!
