Well the season may have officially changed in the calendar but apparently Mother Nature hasn’t gotten the memo! I’ve hit a wall with this cold weather guys and at this point I’m just counting down to 48 hours from now when I’ll be boarding a plane for warmer weather.
In the meantime, I’ve got a pile of work at the office before I leave…
With the colder temperatures sticking around for the time being, I’ve had to get creative with my work wardrobe lately. With a closet full of spring items just waiting to be utilized, it’s hard to pull out the same boots day in and day out. As a result, I’m getting bold with my choices and pulling out the cropped straight leg pants and sandals for a “business casual” vibe.
I mentioned last week how I’m a huge fan of the paper-bag trend when I wore this lovely burgundy skirt a few weeks ago. It’s still been in heavy rotation as of late, but I can’t wait until I can ditch the tights again. I recently purchased these paper-bag cropped style pants (size way down, these run big!) and they’ve been a game changer for me.
The flattering straight leg style that grazes the ankle are perfect for the spring season, especially in Chicago when the weather can be drastically different from the time you walk into the workplace to the time you walk out of the office at night. I love the studded belt, a edgy detail that makes me feel way cooler than I am.
For a day of meetings in the office, I kept the rest of of my look simple with a classic button down and school boy tote bag. As for these sandals, well let’s just say I wear commuter shoes to the office and switch them out in a nice and toasty environment. I love the detail on the back of them, the red, white and blue vibe makes them such a great neutral shoe that I can’t wait to wear more of this summer.
