Hello Fri-YAY!
You guys, it’s been one hell of a week and I’m looking forward to it being over. It’s taking every moment of my mental willpower to keep this dry February commitment going. I did so well with my commitments last month (I talked about them here) but I’m finding myself struggling a bit more with my goals for February. Just gotta keep chugging along!
As I’ve been getting ready for spring (if you wish it, it will come…right?) and taking time to sift through my closet to declutter, I came across this sequin blazer in the back of my closet. If there is one piece of clothing in my closet that someone would have to arm wrestle me for if they wanted to get rid of it, it would be this sequin blazer.
I picked it up two years ago from ASOS (it’s still in stock & on sale!) and it’s an absolute favorite of mine; although I don’t nearly get as much wear out of it as I would like to. There is something about sequin and the holiday’s that go so well together, but post NYE it just seems silly to pull it out.
So this week I decided to challenge myself to wearing sequin more often, especially since it makes me so happy. So how did I make it work for everyday? I kept the whole look monochromatic.
Sequin is already a lot of look so I toned it down by pairing it with my to-go button down blouse (but seriously guys, the Portofino blouses are a godsend for chesty women like myself) and dark denim jeans. I stuck to my all black look (clearly I’m digging the all black looks these days) and let the sequin blazer shine; pun intended.
Instead of hiding this blazer in my closet, I decided to leave it at work. It’s a great throw and go piece for those unexpected happy hours, dinners, or even bumble meet-ups.
So tell me, how do you feel about sequin for everyday?
