January is one of the few months of the year that can sometimes bring me to tears. It becomes so bitterly cold at times (literally we are in single digit degrees right now) that it’s hard to even want to get out of the house, let alone get dress and head to work.
My saving grace this winter season has been long sleeve dresses, which I have been wearing on rotation almost every single day of the week. One of my favorites being this long sleeve black dress with embroidery detail I picked up from ASOS earlier this winter. There are only a few left and it’s on super sale right now!! I tend to always be cold on the upper half of my body and was pleasantly surprised at just how comfortable I have been around the office (aka not having to turn on my personal space heater) by just having longer sleeves.
My favorite part of this dress is the beautiful and colorful embroidery design. The embroidery takes what would normally be a simple little black dress into a multipurpose dress that can easily be worn to the office and also out for happy hour drinks.
For those of you who can’t imagine leaving the house in a dress in these frigid temperatures, I’ll let you in on my little secret – I wear snow pants underneath my dress during my commute. These snow pants got me through my trip to Iceland and I use them pretty much throughout the winter. Since my puffy coat is long, no one notices the odd pairing and I just pull them off when I get to the office!
