I never thought I would every say this but it’s 30’s degrees in Chicago and I’m celebrating the warmth.
For real though guys, after negative degree temperatures (which at that point, I give up and wear whatever covers any exposed skin) I’m thrilled to be able to ditch all the layers and dress like a human again. I’ve been dreaming of a warm weather vacation and personally am kicking myself for not planning a trip during the winter months. After the holiday’s, I always feel way to guilty to take any additional time off….
In other news, I was able to ditch the tights yesterday (which felt like heaven by the way) and pulled out my new favorite faux suede asymmetrical skirt that I recently picked up from LOFT. It’s on super sale right now guys and it’s literally become my favorite new purchase in the last month. The fabric is buttery soft and the stunning navy color goes with just about anything.
I paired it with my boyfriend button down for a casual take on the monochromatic trend. If you are a chesty girl and looking for a great button down shirt that won’t pop open, Express has a great option that I swear by the Portofino shirts from Express. They are a bit baggy, I’m wearing a size S in these photos, but they won’t pop open like some other button down shirts do. Critical for the office workplace!
These knee high boots have quickly become a favorite of mine, as they are a great staple to wear to the office. While I do work at a consulting firm, we’ve got more of a business casual environment and therefore I wouldn’t recommend wearing knee high boots to a conservative office, I do think they are appropriate for every other work environment.
With 50 degree temperatures hitting us in Chicago today, I’m just gonna have to give his asymmetrical skirt another go!
