What was was suppose to be a rainy weekend, ended up being one of the most beautiful weekends Chicago has seen in a long time.
A thought hit me this weekend – the connections with people we make in life sometimes go unnoticed by us during our day to day life. However, it’s when those connections are no longer in your life day to day, do you realize just how important they are to you.
I know, pretty profound for a Monday. I had an amazing opportunity to spend some quality time on Friday night with my old co-workers; people that I miss dearly.
After a late night on Friday, it took me a little extra time to get up and running on Saturday. I already had pre-planned brunch plans and knew that I had to quickly get out the door and ready. With limited time and almost zero energy, I pulled out my new staple wardrobe item – the summer shirtdress.
I picked up my first summer shirtdress a few weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with the style of dress. Professional enough to wear during the day yet light and airy enough to accessories on the weekends for a casual brunch with friends.
I picked up this crispy white shirtdress from Boden last week, a new-to-me retailer that’s quickly become a favorite of mine for their professional work attire. I paired it with my to-go Madewell tote (currently on sale!) and some DV wedges from Target.
So next time you are on a rush to get out the door in the summer, a summer shirtdress will be your best friend.
