Hello Monday! I rarely sound so enthusiastic at the beginning of the work week but today I’m off for the holiday and I feel like this Monday off is well deserved. I’ve been battling the flu for these past few days and last Friday I was hit with strep throat. no bueno
By Sunday I was going stir crazy, so thankfully Peggy came by and took me out for a spin around the city. Chicago is a much larger city than most people realize and there are so many areas of Chicago that I’ve never been to, especially the west side of the city. The west side of the city has been very up-and-coming lately so it’s amazing to see how much things have changed. Despite what you hear on the news, Chicago has a lot of great qualities that shouldn’t be overlooked. So we took a drive to check out some of the new street art that has been popping up on in West Town. It’s amazing to see how much Chicago has embraced street art over these past few years, especially since bloggers like to flock towards them giving the city some positive vibes.
Since I hadn’t worn really clothes in almost 5 days, I was feeling a bit adventurous with my outfit. I’ve been keeping this blue gingham dress in my clothes for months (I picked it up toward the end of the summer but never had a chance to wear it) and wanted to put on something that made me feel good about myself. Needless to say, my favorite way to make my summer dresses work for winter is to layer them under tights & A-line skirts. It’s a combo that never fails!
While blue gingham is a classic summer print, I think it’s definitely a print that works for any season.
So how do you guys find ways to make your summer wardrobe work in the winter?
