Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, I knew at a relatively young age that suburban life just wasn’t for me. I was born to be a city girl and after being in the city of Chicago for over 4 years now, it’s safe to say that the rough and tumble of the city suits me well. I love all of it, the good, the bad, and even the ugly winters.

With that being said, it’s during this time of the year that I tend to miss a few things that suburban life offers. Having a yard filled with colorful fall leaves to frolic in and being close by to an apple orchard where I can pick up apple cider donuts are on the top of that list. If anyone knows where I can get some in the city, please, please, please let me know!

Thankfully, Chicago is filled with the most parks of any other city and living near the Chicago Nature Museum allows me to at least temporarily experience a picture perfect fall day.

While I rarely wear jeans these days, I’m more of a dresses kind of gal, the sudden decrease in temperatures had me busting out my jeans a bit earlier this year. I recently picked up a new pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans that I’m basically in love with. I usually have a hard time finding jeans that fit correctly and this pair has been a holy grail find for me. Paired with a flowy graphic print blouse, which I’m quickly realizing is such a versatile wardrobe piece; it made for a great weekend outfit.

Anyone else have a favorite spot in the city that they love to escape to? Let me know!
