It’s during this time of the year that I tend to become more of a homebody. After spending most of the summer running around the city meeting up with friends, I start to go into hibernation mode when the weather gets cooler. Take this past weekend, after waking up early Saturday to take a acrobatic silks class, followed by running a ton of errands, I decided to forgo the Cub’s celebration in favor of a Molly Ringwald marathon of 80’s teenage movies.
I stayed up way past my bedtime Saturday night re-watching classic movies like Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and my personal favorite teen angst movie, Pretty in Pink. I’m amazed at how many of my friends haven’t yet seen these movies, so if there is one piece of advice I can give on what to add to your Fall To-Do list, it would be to watch these movies.
So while I may not be “pretty in pink” in today’s outfit post, I am pretty in purple to say the least. My style tends to gravitate from one extreme to another, either I’m either wearing a brightly colored outfit from head to toe or I’m wearing all black. It really just depends on my mood for the day. As of late, life has been pretty great and I’m not ready to shake off the colorful outfits just yet. That’s why when I saw this dress on Lulus, I knew it was going to become my new fall staple.
I have a sweet spot for 3/4 sleeve dresses, especially during winter months. This dress is actually almost identical to a black dress I picked up years ago and still wear on a weekly basis. The scuba fabric makes the dress extra comfortable and the color is just the right shade that it blends well with the season. I’m hoping that the weather stays as perfect as it has been the last few days for just a few weeks longer, I’m just not ready for full jacket season! eek!
So tell me, any favorite 80’s movies you like to watch over and over again?
