The last three weeks have been a bit hectic for me. They’ve included a business trip to Tampa, a week long visit from my brother (ugh, sharing a bathroom again is a no-go moving forward), and a great Lollapalooza weekend with friends. I’m exhausted, but I wouldn’t change a moment of it.
Yesterday was my first day back at work after almost a week of and let’s just say that the blaring alarm was very unwelcome. I’m not gonna lie, I cut it close to almost being late to work but thankfully I was able to pull it together by whipping out my go-to work wardrobe essentials. A pencil skirt and a sleeveless button down shirt.
A pencil skirt is a must have for any woman that works in the corporate world. Personally, I’m a huge fan of them, especially this lace style. Dress codes can sometimes be restrictive (trust me, I know. I write them!) but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your personality when it comes to dressing office appropriate. I’m currently loving Ann Taylor, which has become my go-to retailer to pick up office wardrobe essentials at great prices. They currently have a sale going on!! I picked up both this bright red lace skirt & sleeveless button down blouse for $100, a total score. The classic combination had me ready and out the door in under 10 minutes.
So if you ever find yourself waking up in the morning wondering if you can sleep in just a little bit longer. Do it! Your trusty pencil skirt and button up blouse will always be there to keep you polished on those days you actually have to fake it to make it.
