Let’s start off this morning with a bright pop of color, shall we? With a hopefully wonderful and relaxing weekend behind us, it’s time to start the hustle all over again and start this week off right.
It’s a busy week for me as I’m headed to Tampa for a business trip and then coming straight back to Chicago for the Windy City Smokeout. (I’ll literally be getting off the plane and heading straight to the concert! Wish me luck!) With all the business travel I have coming up in the next few week, I’ve been really trying to upgrade my workwear wardrobe to include summer styles that are also travel friendly. I don’t know about you guys but I hate, hate, hate (no seriously) ironing my clothes with a passion. I’m just not good at it and I end up calling my mom in tears more often than not! Finding clothes in wrinkle free fabrics are a must.
So when I found this Ann Taylor dress in a pop of coral, I was instantly in love. Not only does this dress look great for the summer but it’s totally appropriate for the workplace. The fabric is light but still holds some weight making it relatively wrinkle free. Basically a win/win in my book.
I’m also going to share a secret on how to avoid getting your clothes wrinkly during the day. Ready? A slip. Yes, that’s right ladies you heard me. I’m talking about the old fashioned slips & shape wear your grandma use to wear every single day. There was a reason why ladies in the 50’s & 60’s looked so polished all the time. Wearing a slip under your dress creates a bit of a barrier, ensuring less wrinkles throughout the day. I personally bought this slip last week and I’ve can’t recommend it enough. It’s an excellent option that’s under $50!
I’m always on the hunt for dresses & fabrics that don’t wrinkle – got any suggestions?! Let me know in the comments!
