This past weekend was beyond beautiful. For all you mama’s out there, Mother Nature really pulled it out for you and it was well deserved. While I was unable to make it back to Michigan this year to spend the day with my Mama, I felt like I missed out on nothing thanks to FaceTime. (Don’t you just love it when you spend over an hour on the phone with your mom and you basically get 3 words in the entire time…..love you mom!)
While I may not have traveled all the way back to Michigan, I did make my way out to Evanston, a small suburban town right outside the city of Chicago, to visit Christine. I rarely make it out to Evanston (mostly because I’m a recluse that doesn’t like venturing outside of her neighborhood when it’s cold out), but this Sunday I became inspired by the weather to get out there. Christine and I spent most of the day exploring the downtown area. We checked out a few of the unique small shops and grabbed a few macaroons from Bennison’s Bakery. delish!
I had originally picked up this midi dress from Zara last Friday and I couldn’t wait to wear it over the weekend. Midi dresses have become my go-to choice for casual weekends when I still want to look and feel a bit fancy. I loved the bright chartreuse hue of this dress, but I will give everyone a heads up about sizing. This dress runs really large; I’m wearing an extra small here and still feel the need to get it altered at a later date.
So how did you guys spend your Mother’s Day weekend?
