There are some weekends that just pass without fanfare, and then there are those weekends that you have a hard time letting go of but you know that they’ll always be a memory that makes you smile. This past weekend was the latter for me.
These past few weeks have been a whirlwind of change, new jobs and new opportunities have come to light and while it has been super exciting, I really needed the world to slow down for just a minute. This weekend, my mom made a special visit to Chicago and boy did we have a blast! While much of the weekend was spent sprucing up my apartment, I did end up taking my mom to a few of my favorite Chicago hot spots which included Eleven City Diner (Lincoln Park), Yolk (best breakfast in town), and Eataly (we love our red wine).
It was an absolutely beautiful weekend in Chicago so I decided to ditch my trusty jeans and pull on this J.O.A. checkered skirt that I recently picked up at last weeks big Shopbop sale. Checkered patterns are a must have for me this spring season as they add a layer of fun yet polished enough to wear to work. What are your favorite prints for spring?
