This holiday season has been a whirlwind of adventure and events, and I for one have been doing a ton of wonderful things all around Chicago. While I would normally stress myself out about posting and instagramming each and every thing, I decided right after Thanksgiving that I was going to shy away from social media and enjoy the moment.
With that being said, I would say that Chicago is definitely my favorite place in the world during the holiday season. For the month of December the city transforms itself into a winter wonderland with various activities, light shows, and ice skating. This past weekend Sam, Peggy, Nicole, Rachel and I had a blast hanging out at the Peninsula Hotel. We spent some time on the rooftop checking out the ice skating rink, enjoying some delicious hot chocolate, and of course sipping champagne. It was a beautiful day in Chicago as 50 degrees in Chicago in December is unheard of!
For my outfit I wore a super cozy oversized sweater with my favorite blanket scarf to keep me warm. To give my outfit some definition, I belted my scarf and wore it more as a warm cape. I like to keep my outfits oversized and lose during this time of the year so that I can stay comfortable while overindulging on just about everything.
If you are spending any time this month in Chicago, make sure to come check out The Peninsula Hotel and their winter wonderland on the rooftop. From ice skating, snowmen, and so many more activities for adults and kids, it’s a must see and do before the year is over!
P.S. A huge thanks to Rachel from An Eventful Life for setting up this fun event for all of us girls to enjoy.

It’s easy to get caught up in the pressures of constant posting. I love that you’ve taken a step back and allowed yourself to just live in the moment! You look gorgeous in these photos 🙂

Thank you! Yes, taking time away from social media this holiday season was one of the best decisions ever. I can honestly say I’m less stressed out and actually enjoying life.
You’re very welcome! 🙂
Hi! Just found your blog through Erica’s post about the same event – looks like such fun! I ADORE your blanket scarf, btw – I’ve been looking around for one and hinting to my parents that it would make a great Christmas present, haha. 🙂
