I’m going to be real honest and let you guys in on a secret; until 2 weeks ago I never actually owned anything plaid. For some reason I couldn’t get beyond the idea that I would look like a lumberjack every time I tried something plaid printed on. My mind was quickly changed as soon as I tried on this Rails button down, which is honestly one of the softest shirts I’ve ever owned. With my daily “around the house” outfit mostly consisting of jeans and a silk button down, this plaid shirt was a welcome addition to my closet.
For a dinner date last week on one of our Indian summer days I paired up the shirt with my favorite skater skirt. I’m sadden by the fact that it just might be time for me to retire this skirt, as much as I love it, I think I’ve finally hit the age where the short length of this skirt makes me somewhat uncomfortable. Does any one else ever get rid of clothes for this same reason?

I totally feel the same way about the length of my dresses and skirts these days! Come to think of it…I’m not sure I’ve ever owned anything plaid either.
